Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers - was born on the 8th of July, 1989 in Paris. In her early years she attended at the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma was six years old when she made the decision to be an actor. She studied for a number of years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a part time theatre school in Oxford where she was taught acting and singing. When she was ten, she was performing and taking as the main character in several Stagecoach productions and school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) was the movie version to J.K. Rowlings bestselling novel was first cast for first time at the beginning of 1999. Emma was discovered through Emma's Oxford Theater teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after eight auditions that she had been chosen for these parts. She was cast alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's first screen appearance was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's release in 2001. It was the year's top production, and it broke records at the opening and first weekend. The critics were impressed by the performance of the film as well as its story. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her excellent performance. Emma later won five awards for her performance in the film.
